Join the Falls of the Ohio Foundation and Purdue Extension for a sunset tree hike at the Falls of the Ohio! The hike will explore the Falls of the Ohio’s Woodland Loop Trail where you’ll learn about native tree species that call the park home, and how those trees impact the Falls’ ecosystem.

The hike will begin at the trailhead for the Woodland Loop Trial near the rear of the parking lot by the digging piles. Following the hike, participants can stick around the Falls and enjoy one of the most incredible sunset views in Kentuckiana. This event is available for all ages.

About the Woodland Loop Trail A relatively level path with a few minor inclines. The lower section from Cane Run and along the river bank is often covered with driftwood and debris which could make hiking difficult. More than 230 species of flowering plants have been found at the Falls of the Ohio, and some of these can be seen along this Woodland Loop Trail, as it passes through two diverse habitats: Upper and Lower Woodlands. Woodland birds may be seen and heard throughout the trail. Distance – 0.5 mile.
