Much of Earth’s early history is shrouded in mystery, lost by erosion and weathering/  Windows into the past occur in outcrops of rock across earth’s surface that paleontologists have some idea when life appeared and evolved over billions of years.  When the Cambrian Period, 40 million years ago, commenced, it was then that fossils suddenly became common.  Dan Phelps, president of the Kentucky Paleontological Society, will speak on what we know about the life before the appearance of shells and hard parts.  It was more diverse that you might think!  Dan will bring some of his small collection of meteorites and examples of Precambrian fossils and rocks.
