Alan Goldstein, interpretive naturalist & park paleontologist, visited his first quarry in 1969 at age 10. Since then, he has visited quarries and mines in Indiana and Kentucky as well as Maine to California. This presentation will tell stories about visiting mines where fossils and/or minerals were collected and a brief geological overview for each site.  He will also answer these questions: What makes quarries so difficult to access today? Why are they the best windows to understand geology?  Regular museum admission applies.
