This will be the 24th year for this special event at the Falls of the Ohio State Park that focuses on fossils, geology  and archaeology.  Join us  with refreshed collecting piles, hikes, special presentations and geology-themed craft activities.  This event is co-sponsored by IMI, Inc. with participation by the Indiana Geological and Water Survey.  There will be a variety of activities in the picnic area behind the Interpretive Center that will include;

  • Geology- Dig in our refreshed fossil and mineral collecting piles sponsored by IMI, Inc.
  • Outer Fossil Bed Hike at 9:30 am
  • Explore the fossil beds with guided hikes hourly from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • New this year!  Two career-themed presentations: ” So You Want to be a Paleontologist? ” at 1:00 pm by Alan Goldstein and ” So You Want to be an Archaeologist?”  at 2:00 pm by Anne Bader.
  • Special reduced admission  to the Interpretive Center for the event—$7 per person, child or adult
