Educator Handbook: Programs & Services

Programs and Services

Please refer to the web site Educator Information page for the latest news about bringing a class or school to the Falls of the Ohio State Park. For first-time visits, teachers are encouraged to make an appointment to come for an orientation before your field trip. This free activity will enable you to have a smooth, trouble-free (as much as possible, anyway!) outing.

If you are unable to attend an orientation, we will send you an agreement form to be signed and either faxed, mailed or brought in when your field trip occurs. This agreement is a checklist of items we go over at the orientation.

Hands-on Labs (K-16)

Interactive fossil labs - both outdoor (May 1 - mid November) and indoor (mid November - April 30). A variety of labs are available appropriate for different grade levels.

Tools and Foodways of Prehistoric Peoples is a hands-on indoor lab to provide a glimpse into the lives of people who have lived near the Falls for the past 13,000 years using a variety of artifact reproductions.

Students prepare to go on the fossil beds for a lab.
