Cardinal - Splits seed hulls with its stout beak (seen year round)

                                 

Cormorant -  Paddles underwater for fish (year round, uncommon in winter)

Great Blue Heron -  Nabs fish, frogs, insects (seen year round)

              

Hummingbird - Licks nectar from flowers (seen spring - mid autumn)

Mallard - Dabbles for insects and water plants (seen year round)

Osprey   “Dive bombs” for fish (seen spring - mid autumn)                        

Peregrine Falcon - Grabs small birds out of the air (seen year round)           

 Downy Woodpecker - Pecks grubs from rotting wood (seen year round)
